New Hope

For Christ followers, our hope always has, and always will be in the atoning work of Christ and in the power of the Gospel. Circumstances on earth change constantly, but our God is ever faithful and gives us great hope.

His Word is an everlasting source of hope. “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope” (Romans 15:4).

What does the Lord have in store for us?

         I wait for the LORD; my soul waits, and in His word I do hope.   Psalm 130:5

Source of True Hope

In English, when we use the word hope, it expresses somewhat of a wish – such as, “I hope I made a good grade in my class.”
 
In contrast, Biblical hope is based on our faith in God and in His Word. Hope is a confidence in the surety of God, His Word, and His promises.

God of Hope

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:5 NKJV
