Joy Unspeakable December 5

Joy Unspeakable

You rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.
I Peter 1:8b

I  think of this passage during the Christmas season. It’s such a deep and beautiful thought that we could have joy unspeakable.  That’s a joy that is beyond words that only comes from knowing Christ and walking in the Spirit.  Christmastime brings a visual reminder all over our culture that Christ came in the flesh.  Live each day with the realization that Christ came into our world in the flesh for the purpose of giving his life for the salvation of our souls. Have unspeakable joy full of glory!

that the trial of your faith (being much more precious than gold that perisheth, though it be tested with fire) might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ,

whom having not seen, ye love. In Him, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory,

receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

We often sang this song in church when I was a teenager. It is based on I Peter 1:8.

Joy Unspeakable

       by Barney E. Warren   1900

  1. I have found His grace is all complete,
    He supplieth every need;
    While I sit and learn at Jesus’ feet,
    I am free, yes, free indeed.
    • Refrain:
      It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,
      Full of glory, full of glory;
      It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,
      Oh, the half has never yet been told.
  2. I have found the pleasure I once craved,
    It is joy and peace within;
    What a wondrous blessing, I am saved
    From the awful gulf of sin.
  3. I have found that hope so bright and clear,
    Living in the realm of grace;
    Oh, the Savior’s presence is so near,
    I can see His smiling face.
  4. I have found the joy no tongue can tell,
    How its waves of glory roll;
    It is like a great o’erflowing well,
    Springing up within my soul.
