Do Not Be Downcast July 13

Do Not be Downcast!

Your Will be done
You are my hope, Lord

Do not be downcast or unsettled

Why are we downcast and unsettled sometimes? Well, quite simply put, because this whole world is unsettled, confused, and downcast. So many do not know where to turn or which views to believe. Therefore, I say to you: do not be downcast or unsettled.

We should not be downcast like other people because we have the guidance of our great God.  We live in this world, but we are not of this world. Our lives and minds should not be conformed to this world, but should be transformed and renewed daily by God’s Word. Romans 12:2 NKJV

Let’s look again at Psalm 42:3-5 NKJV.

My tears have been my food day and night,
While they continually say to me,
“Where is your God?”

When I remember these things,

I pour out my soul within me.

For I used to go with the multitude;
I went with them to the house of God,
With the voice of joy and praise,
With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.

Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
For the help of His countenance.

Instead, hope in God and praise Him, because He is your help.

A believer must pray, praise, and meditate on the Scriptures to be able to navigate a mixed-up, confusing world without also being caught up in their bewildered mindset. Blessedly, there is help and stability in the Lord and His countenance.

Lord, You are my God.
I will exalt You,
I will praise Your name,
For You have done wonderful things;
Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

Isaiah 25:1 NKJV

                         Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Your will be done.
I will praise You for the help of Your countenance.

                            Psalm 31:24

Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.
