Redeeming the Time
See then that you walk circumspectly (carefully or thoughtfully), not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil.
It's Friday!
It’s Friday! You made it! I always look forward to those Fridays. There is just something about feeling like we are on our own time and not on someone else’s time.
But the reality is that all of our time belongs to the Lord, and we are told to redeem the time because the days are evil. And this world seems to get more so every day.
Ephesians 5:15-17
15 “See then that you walk circumspectly (carefully or thoughtfully), not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time because the days are evil.
17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
And as Colossians 4:5 says, “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without (Christ), redeeming the time.
So, yes, you get some much-needed rest, and do your weekend chores as you should, but give extra time to the Lord on your upcoming weekend. Consider yourself on a mission of hope. There are many hurting people who need us. Problems don’t stop because it is our weekend, and we have fun activities planned. Instead, pray earnestly, and put extra time in God’s Word. Prepare for attendance to the Lord’s house and set yourself up for a weekend of hope.
