Christ in You, the Hope of Glory
“the mystery which has been hidden from ages and generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
To put it another way, the mystery that has been hidden speaks of truths that believers did not know or understand, but now these truths are revealed. Furthermore, the mystery is that Christ lives in the hearts of believers (or saved individuals) and that is a glorious hope because it gives glory to Christ.
Romans 15:13
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
How are You Doing?
Subsequently, we meditated on these verses throughout the week. How are you doing? Are you filled with joy? Peace? Do you abound in hope? Does Christ live in you? Are you the hope of His glory?
Hopefully spending extra time this week dwelling on these verses has brought you hope, joy, and peace. If we know Christ, we want these qualities to describe us. Therefore, it takes drawing near to the source of joy, peace, and hope daily. In addition, we should be relying on the power of the Holy Spirit to teach us through every situation. Consequently, you will know true hope and have that joy and peace in your life when you draw near to the God of hope. These virtues come from knowing the Savior and yielding to the teaching of the Holy Spirit through God’s Word.
In addition to the previous verses, let’s look at Psalm 18:1.
I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
One more review of Colossians 1:27
To them, God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Is Christ in You, the Hope of His Glory?
