Thursday Prayer Focus
Pray for your extended family and all of their physical and spiritual needs.
Adoring Our Father
Just like we have seen in the Lord’s Prayer, our prayers should hallow or show adoration to the Lord and His name. Our prayers should be adoring our Father on a regular basis. When we begin our prayers praising and adoring our Father, our immediate focus becomes God and not ourselves. This is a good habit when beginning a prayer time or when we are learning to pray. The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, so we too can better learn how to pray.
We will look at a few examples of prayers of adoration. The focus is always on the greatness and majesty of the Lord. I like to write down these passages and pray them to the Lord during prayer time.
Philippians 2:9-11
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
We are still looking at His hallowed name and how to honor and reverence His name.
Psalm 95:6
Come, let us worship and bow down,
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
Psalm 96:1 NKJV
Sing to the Lord a new song;
Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, bless His name;
Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.
Tell of His glory among the nations,
His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.

“You are my Lord,
My goodness is nothing apart from You.”
Romans 14:11 NKJV
For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”
