Monday Prayer Focus
On Mondays, pray for people with whom you work and their physical and spiritual needs; also, pray for missionaries and other ministries with whom you may have a tie.
Our Father in Heaven
The emphasis in our prayer study today from the Lord’s Prayer is on our Father in Heaven. God is a tender and loving Father for whom we should have great affection. So realizing that He is our Heavenly Father makes our close relationship to Him very evident. Therefore, we should honor and reverence Him, and hold Him near and dear to our hearts. God is very close and hears our prayers. “Our” Father shows that there are many of us in the family. He loves us as children and wants to bless us.
Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.
But now, O Lord, You are our Father,
We are the clay, and You are our potter;
And all of us are the work of Your hand.
Psalm 95:6
Come, let us worship and bow down,
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
1 Chronicles 29:11-12
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all. 12 Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all.
Isaiah 6:3
And one called out to another and said,
“Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts,
The whole earth is full of His glory.”
