Praying Always July 26-August 1

Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread

Praying without ceasing

Give us this day our daily bread.

Our prayer focus this week will be on section two of the Lord’s Prayer. Section one emphasized the Lord and His name and His will.

Section two moves more into our needs and requests. This week’s emphasis is “Give us this day our daily bread.”

This part of the Lord’s prayer stresses the need for prayer for our daily provisions.  “Bread” is literal. We need bread and other food to live. But bread is also a symbol of the Lord meeting the needs of the day.
